Authentic Assessment Using Video Analysis
2:15 - 2:45 P.M.
Room F2002

Authentic assessments help students participate actively in real-life tasks. This presentation highlights the final evidence of learning used in KNES 281 where students need to demonstrate their understanding of fundamental movement skills (the building blocks of physical literacy) such as running, jumping, throwing and catching. A final exam was replaced with a  final project in which students created and analyzed videos to demonstrate conceptual understanding using a free app (Hudl). This shift in assessment came about in the hopes of creating a more authentic assessment of what the students know and can do.
